The purpose of this page is to help my parents out of debt, get transportation, and on a new health care plan. I am Carolyn, the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Davis. My mother is retired and my father is disabled. They are both seniors.Both of them have heart conditions, and diabetes. My father had an operation for cancer last year. It took them 26 years to move from a very horrible place to an old Cape Cod house that is in need of many repairs, because the organization that was supposed to make living easier for them did a careless job on the house. All they are living on is social security and pension. Twice every year, among other bills, they have to pay "three mortgage payments".We have tried refinancing, only to discover the city in where we live was "prohibiting it!" On top of that, they are having problems getting their medications. Being on medicaid, many times they go without the important medicines that they need. They are forced to pay money that they do not have. I only have a part-time job with no benefits, and cannot help as I have my own debt. I also have thyroid disease, but have no doctor. The last time I went to one, and asked to be put on some type of medication, they told me I was "fine" and needed no medication! I have a younger sister who is now unemployed and developed a medical problem due to lack of transportation and enduring hard physical work.The debt has exceeded more than three times our income. Now it is difficult to maintain a full refrigerator for more than two weeks out of a month. This prevents our ill parents from getting the proper diet they need as diabetics. Please help our parents pay off their mortgage,and get a van for transportation. Then, they will be able to get off of medicaid, and have real quality health care.
